Shufﬂe Table – Magnus Long and Viable Studio, 2007

The ﬁrst two tables in this series are a low-level occasional table and a sofa table that ﬁts around the arms of the sofa and is designed to accommodate a laptop. By offsetting the steel strips from which the table is made, each table is given strength and stability. The natural curvature of these strips results in parallel grooves running along the top surface, creating a subtle texture on the otherwise hard surface. Further options to follow.

StripLight. Beauty in repetition, StripLight ﬁts over the waist of a light bulb, requiring no extra ﬁttings or installation. Supplied as six strips of ﬂexible metal, each ‘leaf’ can be curled to the desired shape by hand. The design can then be fanned out as a pendant shade and ﬁts onto either a standard light bulb or similar shaped energy efﬁcient bulb.
